The Detroit Chapter of the Twelve Days of Christmas, Inc. began with six (6) charter members who were
interested in sharing their blessings with others, especially during the holiday season. With support from
the National Board and partnership of the Houston Chapter, Detroit began establishing their local chapter in the Fall of 2018. Detroit became official during the 20th year the National organization was founded, January 2019.
Though hosting a full fundraising event in 2018 was not possible, the members decided to use their dues
to buy gifts for 2 families from 2 local agencies that included 8 children and 2 adults. Members shopped
for clothing including warm winter items, toys for each child, educational items for each child and a small
token for the parents where permitted. For one family, we were able to celebrate with them during a
holiday event at a local church where we enjoyed food, games, and fellowship. Detroit's charter members all
have a strong desire to give back as they are so grateful and appreciative of their blessings.
Greetings from the Detroit Chapter of the Twelve Days of Christmas, Inc. The Detroit Chapter is extremely honored to join this illustrious organization. As one of the newest chapters of the organization, we are business professionals, community leaders, legal professionals, and educators who share the same desire of making a significant impact in the lives of undeserved Detroiters through charitable activities and community events. We are humbled and excited to start this journey in the Motor City and we look forward to blessing Detroiters with the resources that this organization can offer.
