The Atlanta Chapter of Twelve Days, Inc. began with four members who were interested in
sharing their blessings with others during the holiday season. With support from the
New York Chapter, Atlanta began establishing their group in the last few months of 2014.
Though hosting a full fundraising event in 2014 was not possible, the members decided
to use their dues to buy gifts for two families that included 11 children. Members shopped
for clothing including warm winter items, toys for each child, and a small token for the
parents. After experiencing the joy of giving through Twelve Days, the four members
returned and added two new women to the chapter the following year.
The Atlanta Chapter has continued to grow to 17 members and hostesses who have hosted
their annual “Party With A Purpose” holiday fundraiser. Through support from our sponsors,
the chapter has been able to bring Christmas cheer and provide needed support during the
pandemic to hundreds of children and families in the Atlanta community.
Greetings from the Atlanta Chapter of Twelve Days of Christmas, Incorporated!
“To whom much is given, much will be required.”
It is in reflection of those words that I proudly serve as the President of the Atlanta Chapter. I am humbled to serve alongside a group of women to give of their time, talent and resources each day to help make Atlanta a better place.
Our chapter is comprised of 17 dynamic individuals who are dedicated to service and make being a member of Twelve Days truly feel like family.
When the pandemic struck in 2020, we rallied together as a family to provide much-needed support to children and families. Because of the tremendous support of our sponsors and donors, we were able to provide funding for technology and meals during the summer for students at Atlanta Unbound Academy after the school was impacted by COVID-19. Later that year, we partnered with nonprofit CHRIS 180 to provide Christmas gifts and household items included on their families’ wish lists.
To our amazing community of donors, sponsors and friends of Twelve Days: we thank you. We could not reach the children and families without your support. It is because of you and your generosity that schools and organizations like KIPP Ways Academy, Resurgence Hall, The Kindezi School, Atlanta Unbound Academy and CHRIS 180 are able to receive the gifts and resources needed to have a happy holiday and provide needed resources for children and families during times of crisis.
To my Twelve Days family: thank you for the laughter, the dancing, the cheers and the sisterhood. Each of you has a special place in my heart and you inspire me to be the change I wish to see. Thank you for being a blessing.
